Street Life

Racoons are a common occurance in our neighbourhood. The racoons are thread painted, the garbage can is done with Paintstiks and the eyes are Swarovski crystals. Great topic!

  4. Amazing use of black on black Colleen, your street life is certainly more exotic than ours! The crystals give your racoon a real 'caught in the headlamps' look

  5. Caught in the act - such a great interpretation of the theme. As Linda F said - you always manage to produce something special and different to our takes. Keep it up, Colleen.

  8. I love your different take on the subject. Your thread painting is wonderful as is the paintwork (one of my faviourite mediums). I went into a momentary meltdown and could only think of "streets with people" ! Well done on your originality.

  9. This is the demon of the night- only to be discovered the next morning.
I think you have captured the racoon's expression and tail very well
I enjoy this a lot and also the border makes it so apt

  10. So true!! We have so many racoons in our neck of the woods as well...and you know that they LOVE trash day! Black on black can be very difficult...your shading and contrast is excellent!
