DRUMROLL

NEXT COLOUR

IS

............

I had such fun with this and after many thoughts and choices I chose this colour as it spoke to me of you girls in the northern hemisphere who are going into your wonderful, warm spring/summer and we are into autumn so I felt this was an appropriate colour challenge for us all.

ENJOY

  1. Thanks, Patricia. Green is a colour that I notice a lot in spring. I am always aware of the special colour of the new leaves in Spring - there are so many variations.

    This will be fun.

  2. My favourite thing about spring is the fresh green that appears. As much as I love the colour I have a feeling this may not be easy!

  3. A colour that I work with (well variations of)a fair amount so I am happy and as Hilary says it is all around us but .... now to give it the wow factor. What a perfect match between the leaf and your fabric which you failed to mention you dyed yourself.

    1. Wow - now that is clever, Patricia. I didn't know that was a piece of cloth but it is perfect match. I assumed it was another strange leaf - serve right for not looking at a close-up.

  4. Very thoughtful of you, Patricia. We have the most wonderful greens here after many hard rains this week. You can almost watch the plants growing today!

  5. Can I encore my Encore piece please? If my stash is short of anything it is green - but I'm sure that won't stop me!!!

  8. Interesting that I am finding this shade of green quite difficult to work with as it is a mid-tone and finding good contrasting colours in my stash is my challenge!

  9. Is there a procion dye number for your particular green? or name? Not that it really helped with the aubergine - that was the name of the dye I used, but can't say it was really accurate!

    1. Unfortunately Dianne we don't get the procion dyes here very easily unless one goes on-line and buys them from outside the country, which becomes very expensive for us here. The dyes we can easily obtain are probably generic and come in little plastic bags!! Not that easy so everything tends to be hit and miss. However, I used turquoise and yellow and came up with this colour - give it a bash and I would be very interested in how it comes out. It's worth a try.
