Feeding Frenzy

When I was in London in September my daughter and I were wandering around Selfridge's and came upon a couple of girls with their feet in an aquarium.  The latest in pedicures!  These little fish, garra rufa, eat all the dead skin.  It doesn't hurt and apparently is very effective in producing nice soft feet!

  1. i just love this. i saw this at the airport in amsterdam and was fascinated. love the 'other interpretation' of fish frenzy that you have used here. your use of sheers and solids work well together, enhanced by clever quilting. well done dianne!

  3. Your cartoon-like take on the feet is very amusing, Dianne. Glad I could see it in person yesterday, to appreciate your use of sheers to give the underwater illusion.

  4. Did you try this pedicure, Dianne? What an interesting concept! Your artistry really "tickled my toes" - well done! What is the natural habitat of the Garra Rufa?

  5. It doesn't appeal to me to try it. The fish are from the middle east but when I just googled it, it sounds as though the "doctor fish" that I saw aren't actually garra rufa but perhaps another species as the ones I was were silvery.

  6. Love this quilt, however, I have a thing about people (or things) touching my feet so I find myself curling up my toes and lifting my feet looking at. What a laugh.
